This tutorial will show you how to download, install, and use the ExpressVPN app on your Amazon Kindle Fire device. To follow the steps below, you will need to use a device using FireOS 5 and later.
Get your username and password
Let’s start by getting some details about your ExpressVPN account. Open the Welcome Email you received when you signed up for ExpressVPN and open the link in the email.
Sign in to your ExpressVPN account using your ExpressVPN username and password.
Click Set Up on More Devices.
Select Kindle Fire. Hit the Available at amazon button or the Amazon Appstore link to download the app. You’ll need to sign in in order to download.
Download and set up the VPN app
With your Fire device up and running, select STORE to access the Amazon app store. Enter expressvpn in the search field and tap GET (or DOWNLOAD).
Once the app has finished downloading, tap OPEN.
From the welcome screen, select Sign In. Enter your ExpressVPN username and password then hit Sign In.
You can share crash reports and other anonymous analytics to improve ExpressVPN. Tap OK if you agree to share reports.
You will then be invited to set up your VPN and approve connection requests by ExpressVPN. Tap OK and OK to continue.
Connect to a VPN server location
To connect to a VPN server location, tap the On Button. By default, ExpressVPN will suggest the location that provides the optimal experience for you, called Smart Location.
Hooray! ExpressVPN is now up and running.
Disconnect from the VPN server location
To disconnect from a VPN server location, tap the On Button while connected to the VPN.
Choose a different VPN server location
To connect to a different server location, tap the location picker.
You can change locations while connected to VPN, but you will get a warning stating your internet traffic may be unsecure during reconnection. This warning will reappear each time unless you check the Don’t show me again box.
The list of VPN locations initially features two tabs: RECOMMENDED and ALL LOCATIONS.
The RECOMMENDED tab shows you ExpressVPN’s top picks for you to connect to.
The ALL LOCATIONS tab lists the VPN server locations by region.
To add a location to your list of favorite locations, swipe to the right.
You can access your favorite locations by tapping the FAVORITES tab, which will now appear between the Recommended and All tabs.
To remove a location from your list of favorites, swipe it to the right.
Access your app settings
To access your app settings, tap the hamburger menu (≡) in the top-left corner of the app’s main screen and select Settings.
From the Settings menu, you can change the VPN protocol, configure ExpressVPN to connect on Android startup, choose which apps use the VPN, as well as a range of other functions.
